What information do I need to provide to Lilya when I call about a booking?
Lilya will need to know the location of your party, the occasion, the number of people attending, the approximate time of the performance, whether she should bring her own CD player, which prop (sword, cane, tray of candles) is preferred, and whether there are any music or costume requests.
What will Lilya bring with her?
Lilya will bring a CD with her music on it, a CD player if necessary, and a hip scarf for the honoree to keep. If Lilya is teaching a lesson, she will bring enough hip scarves for all attendees, and attendees will have the option of buying these scarves after the lesson.
Will Lilya arrive in costume and ready to dance?
Lilya usually arrives at performances in costume, but wearing a cover-up. It is up to the host to provide Lilya with a well lit room in which she can ready herself for the performance. The host should also provide a secure place for Lilya's belongings while she is dancing. Lilya also appreciates a glass of water after dancing, since it's thirsty work!
Does Lilya require a deposit? If so, how can it be paid?
Lilya requires a deposit equal to half of the performance fee for performances booked more than two weeks in advance. Payment can be made by check or paypal.
What type of payment is accepted at the gig?
Lilya accepts cash and personal checks. Payment must be made when Lilya arrives at the venue.
How far away from Boston is Lilya willing to travel for a performance?
Lilya is happy to perform anywhere in the world, provided that travel expenses are paid! Otherwise Lilya is willing to perform anywhere within reasonable driving distance; travel time and expenses will be factored into the cost of the performance.
Can Lilya perform more than one set at a party or bring additional dancers?
Additional shows (with a costume change!) within one hour of the first show are $100. Lilya can certainly book multiple dancers for your event, and can also rustle up a live band if given sufficient lead time (4-6 weeks). Please enquire about pricing for such shows.
Is it okay to tip Lilya?
Tipping is always welcome, so long as it is done in a respectful manner. Guests may either tuck money into the belt of Lilya's costume or shower money over her head.
